Dramatic Reading of Esther

This resource takes the book of Esther and turns it into a multipart drama.

Esther is read dramatically each year in many Jewish circles as part of the celebration of Purim. It can be performed, however, in a variety of other settings. My students are able to perform it on the spot with no preparation--and just the script. I do, however, recommend getting some makeshift costumes ready. Invite your audience to participate by cheering, booing, etc. as the exciting story unfolds.
